Steve and Rick

Twenty years after they rocked the Sports Bar, the Thunderbox and even the Great Hall, Shy Talk reunited at Glynn Evans's home town of Ugborough. Steve Gilbert (left) now plays bass in one of Newcastle's top bands, and is a primary school teacher in County Durham. He's also a professional photographer and took most of these pictures.
Rick Creed (right), who was the band's only civilian back in the 80s, still lives in Ivybridge and is well known in the local folk circuit.
